Math Facts 2.3 Coming Soon!

February 20, 2010

UberSmart Math Facts 2.3 is in the works. I'm really excited about this release, as it contains a feature I've been wanting to implement ever since the initial release of Math Facts, the ability for students to compete for the best time / accuracy with other kids around the world!

Additionally, 2.3 will allow you to adjust the upper limit on the times table. Unlike addition and subtraction, where all you need to memorize is 0 through 9, there are valid reasons to go higher with multiplication. That's why the current version of Math Facts goes to 12. Math Facts 2.3 will allow you to set the upper limit anywhere from 9 to 20.

Last, but not least, 2.3 has a new learning mode called "Beat the Clock". This learning mode is a lot more fun than the standard learning mode, and has proved to be quite effective with our youngest.

A stable build of Math Facts 2.3 is now available. It contains all the functionality stated above, but I'm still working on some other changes including a more user friendly trial period (based on actual usage) and a couple other minor enhancements. You can download the latest build by clicking here.

From Math Basics 2.1 to Math Facts 2.2

August 22, 2009

UberSmart Math Basics has a new name, UberSmart Math Facts! But it's still the same great program. The Math Facts 2.2 release has the following enhancements.

  • Added a full screen mode. Allows you to "hide" all that other stuff on the screen from children that are easily distracted.
  • Added statistics popups on the progress chart. Now, you can hover your mouse above any node on the chart to see the details about those test results. The details include the score, how long the student took to complete the test, and more.
  • Enhanced messages at the end of each test. The popups at the end of each test now include cheering for a job well done. The popups also include suggestions on what the student should do next.
  • Added ability to print certificates. After a student has mastered one of the four basic skills, they can print a certificate suitable for framing that acknowledges their accomplishment.
